I’m Impressed

On Friday, I went to school, presented that horrid Latin project, took a science test, and then went to the OBGYN’s office.

Now, I’m already nervous and uncomfortable, being as it’s my seventeenth day on my period and my Mom is insisting I let her into the room with me. I seriously didn’t want to, but was threatened with things if I didn’t. So, I did, and I’m still pretty pissed off about how she didn’t respect my boundaries and forced her way into it. If I didn’t feel comfortable with her attending, she should have just left. It wasn’t her place to push and I assure myself she won’t be in the next.

Thankfully I didn’t need an internal exam. I’m not sexually active, never have been, so there was no need. Basically, we just chatted and she put me on Yasmin, instead of the expected Yaz, because it has a higher estrogen level.

I only have two days experience with this pill,  so things might change. But, it’s been pretty incredible so far. Predictably, my period ended the day after I started Yasmin, thank God for that. I’m unsure to whether I could’ve lasted another couple days without decapitating someone. There were times I really just wanted to scream, “Off with her head!” and have people obey me.

But, alas, I digress. The downsides to Yasmin, at the moment of course, are that instead of the lapse in appitite, I’ve had a strange increase over the past two days. Whatever, I’m sure that will pass. Then, I woke up with an extremely painful headache both yesterday and the day before. That could be written off to bad sleeping habits though, since it was accompanied by a back ache that hurt like Hell.

The point is, I’m very happy with Yasmin so far and hoping it will continue on to get even better.
